Royal Winton Lustre Ware Porcelain BowlFrom the 1930s
The Grimwades/Royal Winton factory in England began making porcelain in the late 1800s. Grimwades is actually the name of the company and Royal Winton is the name under which they sold much of their wares. Most of the Royal Winton Lustre Ware was made in the 1930s. In this pedestal bowl, the colors are beautifully shaded from a rich yellow to a deep magenta in the bowl, both top and bottom. The pedestal is totally magenta. The 5-petaled bowl has a diameter of 6 ¼” and an overall height of 3 “. There is very light crazing – you have to look hard to notice it. The colors are similar to the cup & saucer #206 pictured on page 54 of Royal Winton Porcelain, by Eileen Busly. The edge is rimmed with a narrow band of gold, which shows a little wear in spots. There are no chips or cracks.
