Vernon Kilns Illinois State Plate

Blue on White

The state plates were made by Vernon Kilns between 1950 and 1956. This is the Illinois plate. It has a 10 ½” diameter and is printed in blue. Pictures include the State Capitol, Black Hawk statue, Lake Front - Chicago, University of Illinois, Starved Rock State Park, the Lincoln Country and Illinois Farmland, all inside a blue border.

On the reverse is printed what I assume is the Illinois state song, in blue, and the words “by Vernon Kilns, U.S.A. It is in good condition, with no crazing, cracks or other defects.
