Pairpoint decoratedlimoges plateWith Hand-painted Violets
This delicate small plate measures 5" in diameter. It is marked Pairpoint Limoges. Pairpoint was originally a metalwork's company. It merged with the Mt. Washington Glassworks in the 1890s and retained the Pairpoint name. While the Pairpoint name is usually associated with glass, for a short time around 1900 the company imported blanks from Limoges, France. Made according to strict specifications, the blanks were decorated at Pairpoint. This piece has lavender violets. The interior outline is in gold and a thin band of gold is around the edge. In addition to the company mark, it has the 2406 & 24 in red ink on the bottom. It is an exquisite piece in very fine condition.
