Royal Doulton Style White Character Jugs

With Partial Glaxing

These two character jugs will make fun additions to a collection. They are unpainted. The faces are still in bisque form. The rest of each piece has been glazed. The bottoms are unglazed and unmarked, so there’s no company identification. The one on the left is a Night Watchman type mold with a lantern for a handle. It is 4 3/8” tall. The one on the right appears to be a blacksmith with a boot and hammer for the handle.

I don’t think these are Royal Doulton molds but the quality of the porcelain is good and the molds are nice. Many white character jugs were produced in England during World War II when there were government restrictions on the production of colored porcelain.

The jugs are very white, and not well represented in the color of our pictures.

There are no chips or cracks.
