Rookwood Pottery Pink Matte Bowl

Made in 1929

This small Rookwood bowl is shape #6075. It is hexagonal. Each corner is rounded to give a small scallop shape, with incised double lines below each corner to form a panel, ending in a small foot. The same incised lines are also in the interior, to form an inside panel at each of the six corners. The color is a soft matte pink. It is solid on the outside, but the color shades from dark to lighter pink on the inside. It has a diameter of 4 7/8” high. It was designed by Kataro Shirayamadani, Rookwood’s premier designer. Marks on the base include the Rookwood logo, the Roman numerals XXIX (1929) and the mold number 6075. There are no chips, cracks or defects.
