Lenox Smithsonian Pigmy Hippo Baby

Porcelain Figurine

Lenox Porcelain and the Smithsonian Institution combined in 1993 to issue a series of the babies of endangered species. This is the baby of the Pigmy Hippo. It is 5 ½” tall and 6 ½” long. The coloring is a very dark gray matte finish with a few touches of pink around the ears and mouth. In appearance, he may be only a baby a mother can love, but he’s cute in his own way. He has 4 toes (claws?) on each foot and his skin is wrinkled. It’s a nice piece of porcelain work by a quality company. There are no chips, cracks or defects.
