Niloak Pottery Deer PlanterEarly Arkansas Pottery
This Niloak deer looks like it’s just been caught in a car’s headlights with its wide-open eyes. It stands about 5 ¼” tall and has an over-all length of about 4”. It is a brushed mauve/green color. The shape is pictured in the upper right hand corner of pg. 175 of “The Collectors Encyclopedia of Niloak” by Gifford. Niloak is marked on the bottom in low relief. Niloak was an Arkansas pottery in business from 1909 to 1946. The deer has no chips or other defects.
