Wautoma, Wisconsin

Crystal with gold-covered head

Souvenirs made of glass were very popular in the first few decades of the 20th century. This crystal hatchet originally said “Souvenir of Wautoma, Wisconsin” in gold. Part of the word Souvenir has worn away. The head of the hatchet has also been painted with gold. The gold has not worn at all on the head. The overall length is 6”. The distance across the head is 3”. There are no chips or cracks.
