Hobbs Brockunier Leaf & Flower Celery

With Amber Staining

 

This beautiful celery was made by the Hobbs Brockunier Glass Co. in 1890. It is 6 ½" tall. The lower half of the piece is satinized with a design of leaves and flowers impressed into the glass, and then stained with amber. Hobbs called it Line 339, with No. 30 decoration. It has a scalloped-type top. The base has a diameter of 3î, with a flower impressed. If you have access to the 1997 book Hobbs, Brockunier & Co. Glass, by the Bredehoft’s, you will find it pictured on page 124. It is in excellent condition.
